NBA Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant is more than an outstanding player, he’s a good man.
That's what led Durant agreed to allow Nicko Sports to sell 2014 limited-edition basketballs with his picture and stats from his remarkable season. Part of the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish of Oklahoma.
“We’re probably down to the last 700 or so basketballs in the collection,” said Bob Ibach with Nicko.
Listen to the conversation with Bob here.
I actually witnessed the very first Make-A-Wish event,” Bob told KRMG news. “It was a little boy about eight-years-old who got a wish fulfilled to be a police officer. It stuck with me.”
The ball has a picture of Durant and stats from his MVP season. It also has white panels allowing autographs to be gathered.
Bob told us the ball sells for $99.00 with the option to add Durant’s signature for an additional $409.00.
Ibach says the fundraiser could mean several thousand dollars for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
