Smoking could be banned at Tulsa parks

Fri, April 21, 2017 — Smoking could soon be banned on any Tulsa City Park property.

KRMG's told the Tulsa Health Department is starting an initiative to make it happen.  They're receiving support from the city council and mayor.

Several residents we spoke to love the idea.

If passed, the initiative could bring in much needed money.  The ban would help Tulsa qualify for a healthy community certification that could lead to $275,000 in grant money.

“I’m not judging people for smoking, but I would like to keep it away from myself and my kids if possible,” one resident said.
