Shooting range applies for a liquor license

The idea passed the OKC planning commission

A fully stocked VIP lounge is closer to reality for Wilshire Gun in Oklahoma City.

The owners asked the planning commission to allow them to have a liquor license.

Commissioner passed the proposal last week with a 7-2 vote.

The shooting club owners say customers wouldn’t be able to return to the shooting range after visiting the VIP lounge.

The plan is to scan a customer's license before he or she operates a lane or orders food, alcohol or merchandise.

There are ranges in California and Texas that serve liquor and have never had a problem.

The range is under construction right now and is expected to open by the start of summer.
