Senator Jim Inhofe says Obama should stop apologizing to Muslims

Senator knew murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens

Stop apologizing for hurting the feelings of Muslims.

That's Oklahoma Republican Senator Jim Inhofe's message to the Obama administration this afternoon.

Inhofe says, "The statement that was issued right after the Cairo incident that 'the embassy of the United States condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt religious feelings of Muslims,' you know, this is something that I, um, I shouldn't be surprised."

As for military retaliation, Inhofe says he doesn't know yet if that's the necessary next step.

Senator Inhofe wants President Obama to rescind that apology and others he's made to the Muslim world.

Inhofe and other members of the Senate Armed Services committee are today discussing possible U-S reponses to the murder of US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.

Senator Inhofe is also on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

As such, he got to know Ambassador Stevens during the confirmation process.

Inhofe says Stevens was a professional diplomat and calls his murder "a tragedy."

Senator Inhofe tells KRMG he hopes that "maybe this is going to be the wake-up call for America to get tough in the middle east and start defending our own interests."
