Schoolkids give out coffee and doughnuts to first responders

October 28th is National First Responders Day

Today is National First Responders Day, and lots of places were finding ways to show their appreciation to our first responders.

Of course, one reason that first responders are so appreciated is that they’re so busy.

So, the kids at the Lighthouse Christian Academy in Tulsa set up a ‘drive-through’ coffee and doughnuts event outside their school.

The kids also gave out handmade thank-you cards to the first responders.

“Where they could still be working their shift, they may be on their route, they could stay right in their vehicle, but we could still do just a small token of our appreciation to them,” said LCA Principal Justin Johnson.

QuikTrip and Starbucks pitched in by donating the doughnuts and coffee.
