School repossesses lunch from students behind on payments

Parents like Erica Lukes told the Salt Lake Tribune "it was pretty traumatic and humiliating."

School worker Jason Olsen said when the district realized a large number of students were behind in their payments, the district tried to contact parents.

But the Uintah Elementary School later released a statement on their Facebook page saying; "this situation could have and should have been handled in a different manner. We apologize."

The kids were not left without lunch. Each student who had their lunch taken was given fruit and milk.
