Sand Springs City Manager quits, effective immediately

Sand Springs officials tell KRMG that City Manager Rocky Rogers announced his resignation, effective immediately.

Rogers served as City Manager since his hiring on May 23, 2011.

In a statement released by the city, Rogers says that it is time to pursue other opportunities that exist. Rogers offered his thanks and appreciation to the City Council, City Staff and the citizens for their support during his tenure.

Burdge says the City will begin the process for naming an interim City Manager at its next regular meeting on December 16 then be gin the search for Roger's replacement after that.

Mayor Mike Burdge tells KRMG he appreciates the hard work and dedication that Rogers committed to the job.
