Salina driver charged with four counts of manslaughter for fatal accident

A Salina man was charged on Friday with four counts of manslaughter and one count of unsafe lane use in connection with the deaths of four Kellyville residents.

Creek County court records show David Ernst is accused of driving while under the influence of Lortab, resulting in a crash killing Susie Frazier, Vernon Bowles, Vivian Henry, and Alex Henry.

All four victims were declared dead at the scene.

Records show he confessed to taking Lortab pills before driving on Aug. 23.

The accident happened near 141st Street in Kellyville around 9:15 p.m.  Records show the victims had been out shopping for school supplies.

Ernst remains in the Creek County Jail.
