Rollover accident on I-44 exit ramp injures six occupants

Odor of alcohol at scene of crash

A rollover accident at 2 a.m. Friday sent six of seven occupants of a pickup truck to local hospitals.

Tulsa police tell us that the Chevrolet Colorado was being driven west on the Broken Arrow Expressway when it failed to negotiate the ramp to go east on I-44.

The truck went off to the left, crossed the ramp and then rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels near a motel.

Several occupants of the truck were ejected.

We're told that as the vehicle started to enter the ramp, it struck a light pole and went into a gully area.

One person got out and ran away on foot.

Police told News On 6 photojournalist Gary Kruse that two females and four males were transported to local hospitals.

Police said that there was a strong suspicion that alcohol was involved and that the occupants of the truck had just recently left a local night spot.
