RED ALERT TRAFFIC: Tanker truck crash, fire shut down Turner Turnpike for 3 hours

UPDATE:  Traffic is moving from Oklahoma City to Tulsa as the eastbound lanes open up on the Turner Turnpike about 5:40pm Wednesday.

Westbound lanes were reopened shortly after 7 P.M.

Both directions of the Turner Turnpike at mile marker 213 were shut down around 4:15 P.M.

A crash between two semi-trucks has caused a fire that has shut down the Turner Turnpike near Sapulpa.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted at the Kellyville exit and westbound traffic is being diverted at the east entrance of the turnpike in Tulsa.

KRMG's Russell Mills reported at 5:30 P.M. that firefighters had the fire under control but both directions of the turnpike remained closed.
