Tulsa-based Quik Trip is reportedly making plans to open a store in the Oklahoma City market for the first time ever.
A company spokesman told the Oklahoman that Oklahoma City is a “potential” location for its travel center concept, which is a larger store meant to accommodate heavier traffic and tractor trailers along interstates.
The website OKCTalk.com reported that the location under consideration is near I-35 and Hefner Road.
Cadieux credited Brown with giving him business advice during the early days of Quik Trip and said Quik Trip would not have survived without it.
According to Quik Trip lore, QT founder Chester Cadieux had a gentleman’s agreement with Bill Brown, the owner of several 7-11 franchises in the Oklahoma City area, that Quik Trip would not expand into Oklahoma City.
But the Brown family recently sold all of its stores to the 7-11 corporation, according to OKCTalk.com.
A company spokesperson says as of now, there are no plans to open any smaller QT stores in Oklahoma City.
