Property owners take new steps to fight meth

You don't really know what the neighbors are up to inside closed doors.

A local property owner is taking some interesting steps to make sure his residents aren't making meth.

Greg Williams runs Property Plus with about 500 apartments.

Williams tells KRMG, “We’ll be bringing in a professional that has dealt with this all across the country.”

He has hired a nationally known expert to teach employees about the signs of meth labs.

So, how do you teach people to look for meth labs?

Williams says there are a few key items to look for. “We’ll be teaching our people to look for coffee filters in places where you wouldn’t normally see coffee filters, red dust in carpet.”

Williams says the training is a good investment when you look at the cost of cleaning an apartment after a meth lab.
