President Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are announcing a grant totaling $85 million to ODOT for the I-44, Highway 75 corridor improvements project in Tulsa.
It’s of nine nationally significant projects selected for this first year of the Mega Grant program. This project will upgrade the I-44 & US-75 interchange and make pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements.
Recurrent congestion and poor safety make travel through the state-designated “critical urban freight” corridor difficult.
By reducing crashes and travel delays and improving travel time reliability, this project will eliminate a freight bottleneck and expand access to jobs.
Travel delays and unreliable travel times also affect supply chains and reduce access to job opportunities.
