Update
PSO crews were working throughout east Tulsa early Tuesday to restore power after several explosions were reported Monday evening.
The power outage began around 10:45 p.m. Monday in several different pockets of east Tulsa and western Wagoner County.
On both sides of the roadway were apartment complexes and businesses that were without electricity.
News On 6 photojournalist Gary Kruse drove down 129th East Avenue from 11th Street and found the only street lights that were working was near 61st Street.
Tulsa police told us that the outage started east of Garnett Road and extended for several miles.
The power outage may have been connected to a house fire that damaged a home near 13300 South 123rd East Avenue.
Fortunately, no one was injured in that fire.
Investigators were trying to determine the cause of the fire.
One investigator said that there were several candles burning inside the house because of the power outage.
Most PSO customers had their power restored by 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Over 12,000 PSO customers were without electricity in the Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Wagoner County area overnight.
There have been reports of explosions, which may be transformers that have blown and caused the outage.
KRMG received phone calls and text messaging about the problem starting around 10:45 p.m. Monday.
We're told PSO crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
