Poll shows America slipping in the eyes of the world

China believed to be overtaking US as economic power

The poll says 22 of the 39 nations questioned still see the US as the world’s economic power.

But eight nations say China has overtaken America. What might surprise you is Britain, Canada, Germany, and France are among the eight.

Even more surprising are the survey results in the US with 44 percent of Americans saying China is tops compared to 39 percent voting for their own country.

The Pew Research centers points out a great many of the nations polled think China has or will outpace America as the world’s #1 economic engine in the coming years.

28 of the 28 countries surveyed say the US is viewed favorably by others. The highest ratings came from nations like Ghana, Senegal, Kenya, and Israel. Not surprisingly the worst numbers same from Middle East nations like Egypt and Turkey.

Three of the 39 countries have no problem with America’s use of drones to fight extremists.
