Police use chemical agent to end motel standoff

A six hour standoff at the Tulsa Select Inn Motel near Yale and Skelly ended early Saturday morning.

Police says the standoff started around 8 p.m. and concluded just after 2 a.m.

Everything started when a task force tracked an unnamed man wanted for warrants out of Rogers County, down to the motel.

Eventually, TPD's special operation's unit used a chemical agent to get the suspect out of the room.

The situation escalated when the suspect locked himself in a room and threatened to blow the motel up.

No bomb making material was found.
