Police find bones near where human skull was found

Skull was found Monday in northwest Tulsa

Tulsa Police have found more remains in the woods near where a was skull found.

That skull was found next to a northwest Tulsa neighborhood near Apache and Gilcrease Museum Road on Monday.

Investigators found more bones in the area late Friday evening.

"I think the people that did this would have just assumed that the skull would not surface," said Tulsa Police homicide Sgt. Dave Walker.

The Medical Examiner's Office hopes to identify the skull using dental records. The victim of the apparent homicide had braces.

"We're pretty confident that, as far as I'm concerned, that we have the person identified. But, obviously, we can't release that name until we can positively identify that and talk to the family," Walker said.
