Police 'close to making arrests' in quadruple homicide

Police have not speculated on motive for murders

Tulsa police may make some arrests soon in the murders of four women at a south Tulsa apartment complex earlier this month.

23-year-old twin sisters Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-year-old Julie Jackson were lined up and shot execution-style on Jan. 7 at the Fairmont Terrace Apartments near E. 61st St. and S. Peoria Ave.

Tuesday, top TPD brass, Mayor Dewey Bartlett and others held a public meeting to discuss fighting crime in that area.

Police have not speculated publicly on a possible motive for the murders.

At that meeting, Asstistant Tulsa Police Chief Dennis Larsen told KRMG that the Department is close to making arrests.
