Plane crash kills the pilot, passenger in critical condition

KRMG has learned one man is dead and another is in critical condition after a plane crash Saturday afternoon in Carter County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a 1967 Piper Cherokee went down one mile south of the Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport around 2:15 p.m.

No word on what caused the plane to crash.

Their names haven't been released.

Troopers say the 63-year-old pilot was declared dead at the scene.  A 58-year-old passenger was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
