Pickup truck driver in Tulsa rear-ends motorcycle, critically injures cycle passenger

Pickup driver arrested for possible DUI

We're told a motorcycle rider and his passenger were taken to the hospital after a pickup truck slammed into them near 71st and Yale.

The accident happened about nine last night.

Tulsa Police Corporal Mike Fitzgerald tells us, "We had an off-duty officer witness the collision. The pickup attempted to leave and from what I understand he followed the pickup and was on the telephone (to) 911. Officers caught up to him and got the pickup stopped and the suspect was taken into custody."

Fitzgerald tells us the pickup driver rear-ended the motorcycle, knocking it onto the side of the road.

We're told the suspect was arrested for possible DUI.

"We have a passenger from the motorcycle that is listed as critical."

Fitzgerald tells us the motorcycle rider was eastbound and slowing to make a turn when he got rear-ended.
