Phone video captures possible shoplifting spree

The video shows a man stealing a shopping cart stuffed with items from a Coweta WalMart

A cell phone video of an apparent shoplifting spree at a Coweta Walmart is making the rounds on social media.

A man named Anthony Smith posted the video on his Facebook page Sunday evening, and by late Monday morning it had more than 1,200 shares.

It shows a man throwing a shopping cart full of groceries into a brown SUV, from which the license plates had been removed.

The man he's taping denies he stole anything, saying he paid for it.

The videographer (presumably Smith) is heard accusing the man of stealing the items from the Walmart.

But he's in an obvious hurry to get everything jammed into the SUV, after which he jumps in the back seat and yells "go!" to the driver, a woman.

None of the items were bagged.

Coweta police acknowledge that they're aware of the incident.

KRMG is awaiting a return call from the lieutenant in charge of the case.
