Persistent crook busted robbing same store twice

If at first you don't succeed...

Christopher Miller robbed a shoe store in 1999, got caught and served 15 years.

The day after he got out, Miller went back to Toms River, NJ and robbed the same Stride Rite store again. He got caught this time too thanks to hesitant employees.

The people working inside the store were slow to hand over the money and refused to give up their car keys.

The Toms River Police K-9 unit quickly found Miller and the $390 he got away with.

The employees say he was trying to force them into a storage room, just like he did in ’99, but they wouldn’t go. Miller got impatient and fled with the cash register.

Miller faces a charge of robbery and is being held on $100,000 bond. The 40-year-old, from Tulsa, has no known connections with Toms River, other than the two robberies.
