One resident dead, three firefighters injured in Owasso home explosion

Oxygen tanks to blame

One person is dead after a home explosion in Owasso.

It happened Thursday evening around 6 p.m. near 76th Street North and Highway 169.

Owasso firefighters said they successfully rescued one person and were attempting to rescue a second person when the explosion occurred.

We’re told a fire in the home caused oxygen tanks to explode, but the cause of the initial fire is unknown.

According to Owasso police, three firefighters were injured.
