One man accused of some 40 percent of QT larcenies arrested

The company says Jeremy Barnett may have committed 50 or 60 larcenies in recent months

Tulsa police have arrested a man they believe targeted Quik Trip stores in a crime spree that lasted for months and may have included dozens of thefts.

Jeremy Barnett, 28, faces six counts of larceny of merchandise from a retailer, but QT believes he may have stolen from them between 50 and 60 times in the last several months, accounting for between 30 and 40 percent of the company's losses from larceny.

Barnett's alleged MO was to simply walk out with anything he grabbed.

The company's policy is not to interrupt or try to stop thieves, as they're confident police will eventually track them down.

His tendency, QT says, was to grab cases of beer or power drinks, but on occasion he'd grab snack items, or in one case, bug spray.

That's not the policy at Sears, though, and it was loss prevention employees at the location near 21st and Yale Avenue that detained Barnett after he apparently tried to walk out with some $650 worth of merchandise.
