Okmulgee police investigating pair of overnight shootings

OKMULGEE, Okla. — The Okmulgee Police Department is investigating two overnight shootings.

The first happened near East Randolph and North Ohio Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. Chief Joe Prentice says shots were fired into a vehicle. No one was hurt in that incident.

The second shooting happened near West Lagonda Street and North Collins Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning. Chief Prentice says several rounds were fired into a house in the area.

Police say the resident, Bryan Meneley, 41, was hit once in the hip but is expected to be okay after being taken to the hospital.

Both incidents are believed to be related, and may also be related to an earlier burglary at the same home.

Prentice says they have identified possible suspects and at least one is a juvenile.

Investigators are working to determine who is involved and what their involvement is. Prentice says no further information is available about the investigation at this time.
