Oklahoma traffic fatalities increased in February

Lower for the year overall

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says that the number of traffic fatalities rose in Oklahoma in February.

33 people were killed in auto accidents in February 2013 .

That's up by two from the 31 killed in collisions in February 2012.

The department says 120 people have died on Oklahoma roadways this year as of Sunday.

Despite the slight increase in February, the number of traffic fatalities for 2013 thus far is down sharply from last year.

That is compared to 156 traffic fatalities on the same date in 2012.
