Oklahoma Task Force 1 deploys to Louisiana ahead of Hurricane Delta

First responders to assist with building shelter for evacuees

For the third time in less than two months, Oklahoma Task Force 1 is being activated to assist in Louisiana ahead of a hurricane.

OK-TF1 will first stop in Monroe, LA where first responders will help build shelter for evacuees.

The Tulsa Fire Department said the crew will then stage in Baton Rouge and wait for Hurricane Delta to pass.

The task force will be deployed as a type III team with swift-water and collapse capabilities.

TFD said the crew will adjust to the needs of first responders in Louisiana.

OK-TF1 was also deployed for Hurricane Laura in August and Hurricane Sally in September.
