The previous record payout in a divorce case was the $1.7 billion awarded Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Anna in 1999.
It looks like Sue Ann Hamm, who filed for divorce from Harold Hamm last year could top that by several billion.
Hamm says she is ending the marriage because she found out her husband was having an affair. Sue Ann is a former executive at Continental and claims she was a major part of building the company with Harold.
