Oklahoma's next top job: leaders head to Dallas to recruit companies

The next company that announces it is moving jobs to Oklahoma may come because of a series of meetings this week.

A group of state and local leaders are headed to Dallas to meet with those interested in moving jobs to Oklahoma.

“We are going to them to tell our story directly. It is interesting when I did this last year and the previous year, I was the only Mayor,” says Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett.

“This is a very, very competitive environment in trying to get business to move into a city and if we are not out there pitching then our message isn’t heard,” says Bartlett.

He is part of the delegation along with members of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Tulsa Chamber of Commerce and the State Chamber of Commerce.

We're told the group will host a reception for those who help industries and businesses select expansion sites.
