TULSA — Oklahomans itching to roll up a sleeve for a COVID-19 vaccination won’t have to wait much longer to get in line.
Oklahoma Deputy Health Commissioner Keith Reed announced Tuesday that Phase 4 of Oklahoma’s vaccination program will kick off on Monday, March 29th.
“We have all been looking forward to this day for some time,” Reed said. “All Oklahomans will be eligible to schedule a vaccine appointment through the state, regardless of your priority group. No more screening for eligibility groups, no more need for personal contemplation about whether you’re eligible, or should get the vaccine. If you’re over 16, and live in Oklahoma, you’re eligible and should get vaccinated.”
“Now that there are three vaccines available, and our supply is consistent and growing, we are able to continue opening up more access points to make the vaccine readily available around the state,” Reed added.
Supplies of the Moderna, Pfizer, and Janssen vaccines have increased substantially in recent weeks, and a fourth version - from Astra Zeneca - could become available soon.
He said between state, federal, and private distribution points, there are approximately 1,000 vaccine providers in Oklahoma.
To receive a shot from a health department, one still needs to visit the Oklahoma Vaccination Portal.
