Oklahoma bill called 'soft on crime' by Republican

Criminals will not be allowed to leave prison early in Oklahoma, due to good behavior.

Republican Rep. Bobby Cleveland crafted a bill designed to help with prison overcrowding.  The legislation would have allowed inmates who are sentenced to prison for one of the 85 percent crimes to earn credits with good behavior.

Their good behavior would then allow them to leave prison early.

On Thursday, the bill was voted down 62-29 in the House.

Republican Rep. Scott Biggs called the bill "soft on crime."
