Suspect in OKC Hobby Lobby shooting dead after crash

An employee at a Hobby Lobby distribution center shot and killed his manger at the facility on Wednesday, Oklahoma City police said.

The shooting happened about 5 p.m. near the company’s headquarters on the city’s southwest side, said police Sgt. Rob Robertson.

“The suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim at least once,” Robertson said.

Smith died as a result of the shooting.

OKCPD said the suspect, 32-year-old Dominique Thompson, went to his car after an argument with his supervisor and came back with a gun. Police said Thompson shot the victim, 69-year-old Douglas Smith, then fled the area.

OKCPD said Thompson led police on a chase out of Oklahoma City and into Kingfisher County, where he crashed.

Police say Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.
