OG&E crews return home after helping in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida

Hundreds of Oklahoma Gas & Electric employees helping with restoration efforts in Louisiana are home.

270 people, including line workers, contractors, vegetation management personnel, and support staff were stationed in Louisiana to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. Crew members had been in Louisiana for two weeks.

Ida left nearly one million people without power. The OG&E team replaced 110 poles and repaired traffic lights in their assigned community.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to restore power in challenging conditions as quickly and safely as possible the past two weeks. Our priority is for our linemen to return to their families safely. We are pleased to share we made it home without injury,” said Chad Guthrie, OG&E Manager of Distribution Construction.
