Newly discovered Johnny Cash album to be released

Son says Cash "never threw anything away"

The tapes were part of a huge stash of things the Man in Black kept stored away.

John Carter Cash is the son of Cash and June Carter, he said "they had an archive that had everything in it from the original audio tapes from The Johnny Cash Show to random things like a camel saddle, a gift from the prince of Saudi Arabia."

There have already been other items restored and released all in preparation the 10th anniversary of his death.

At the time Cash was still with Columbia records who forgot about the tapes after they dropped him in 1986.

Family members and workers at Legacy Recordings found the lost music as they combed through books, music, and other things the signer compiled in his lifetime.

The release date for the new album is March 25, 2014. "

We were so excited when we discovered this," his son beamed. "We were like, my goodness this is a beautiful record that nobody has ever heard."
