New service offers cloud-based gaming for not much money

Flare describes itself as the "Netflix of gaming"

A new gaming service hopes to do for console and computer gaming what Netflix did for television.

It's called "Flare," and it's a cloud-based gaming system.

The user hooks up a small console to an HDTV and uses a wireless handheld controller to play.

Some of the popular titles include Lego Batman and Assassin's Creed II.

The service currently features more than 1oo titles, with more being added monthly.

It's a subscription service, costing $9.99 a month, and the equipment is reasonably priced at $14.99.

But for a limited time, the equipment is free at Cox Solutions Store in Tulsa.

There will also be units available at the Home and Garden Expo of Oklahoma the weekend of July 26-28 at Expo Square.

They can also be ordered at Amazon.com (where you get the equipment free with a 3-month subscription) or directly from FlarePlay.com.
