New iPhone may be introduced September 9th

The phone is rumored to have bigger screen

It's time to consider throwing away that iPhone you have and get ready for the next generation iPhone. Both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal cite persons familiar with the matter who say Apple will introduce the new iPhones on September 9th.

The iPhone 5s screen measures at 4 inches but the new phones are expected to be have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens.

This should not come to much surprise since Apple is predictable with an early to mid-September iPhone announcement.

MacRumors says it will most likely be thinner and lighter, with an updated processor and better camera. The phone is expected to resemble the company's iPod touch.

Samsung has been a competitor in the smartphone market for a few years now, thanks to larger-screen phones. It's most likely Apple wants to up to keep up with Samsung and increase sales in foreign markets where larger phones are popular.

No word on the battery in the 5.5-inch version.

It is unsure if this new iPhone will be the iPhone 6 or not, but looking at the tend in naming the iPhones, we can only assume.

Apple declined to comment on the reports, and will likely continue to do so until it sends out press invites to the alleged September 9 event.
