Boeing is best known for their passenger airplanes, but they’ve decided to jump into the mobile phone battle with both wings.
The new offering is called the Boeing Black, but it’s not the name that has everyone interested.
The security measures built into the phone allow s the phone to “self-destruct.”
The phone will run the Android operating system and will also contain two separate SIM cards, allowing it to go back and forth between both civilian wireless networks and others run by the government.
That doesn’t mean it would release acid and go up in a puff of smoke. The software is designed to wipe out all data, photos, and all other information if it detects tampering.
Boeing says they expect the device to be used "primarily by governmental agencies and their contractors."
A Boeing release said the company “saw a need for our customers in a certain market space."
There has been no release date, carriers, or price announced yet.
