Multiple earthquakes recorded this weekend

Several small earthquakes were recorded over the weekend in Oklahoma.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the latest was a 3.3 magnitude recorded just before 8 p.m. Sunday, three miles north of Spencer. Spencer is roughly 10 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

Four other quakes were recorded between 3:15 and 8:45 p.m. Saturday. These quakes ranged in magnitude from 2.5 to 2.7.

Those were recorded several hours after 3.6 and 3.7 magnitude quakes near Edmond and another 2.7 magnitude tremor near Jones.

Three were near Spencer and the fourth near Jones, which is a little further northeast.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest felt by humans and damage is not generally seen from quakes below magnitude 4.0.
