Multiple area agencies continue campaign to stop intoxicated drivers

We're told 256 vehicles were checked

We continue to follow a campaign by members of multiple area agencies to end DUIs.

We're told the latest sobriety checkpoint was conducted late Saturday night and into Sunday morning near 4th and Elgin.  Tulsa police say 256 vehicles were checked between 10 p.m. and 2:45 a.m.

The checkpoint resulted in: 12 DUI arrests, three misdemeanor warrants, and 73 citations.

Police say the numbers are preliminary.

Members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma ABLE Commission, and TPD participated in the checkpoint.

The campaign is paid for by a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.
