Multiple agencies conduct sobriety checkpoint

Sun, March 12, 2017 — Members of area agencies continue to take part in a campaign to end DUIs.

The latest example happened late Saturday night and into Sunday morning near East Haskell and North Harvard.

““Members of the Tulsa Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office participated in the enforcement checking 131 vehicles,” police said.  “The effort resulted in 6 DUI arrests, 97 citations issued, 1 felony drug arrest, 2 felony warrant arrests, and a misdemeanor drug arrest.”

Police report the checkpoint was funded by a grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office.

The numbers reported are all preliminary.
