McAlester — A woman and her son defended their home with bravery on Tuesday in McAlester.
KRMG's told the woman woke up to 20-year-old Kaleb Oss standing over her with a gun and asking for the key to her safe. Investigators report the woman then struggled with Oss, while her son grabbed the suspect's gun.
Moments later, the woman grabbed a meat cleaver from the kitchen and hit Oss multiple times. The suspect was hospitalized, before going to jail.
No word on how Oss knew about the apparent safe in the home.
Her son also needed medical attention for a cut on his wrist.
