Mayors of Tulsa, OKC strengthen 'shelter in place' orders

TULSA — The mayors of OKlahoma's two largest cities have announced they will expand and more closely enforce “stay at home” measures for the general public as part of the response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum enacted a "Shelter in Place" order on Saturday for all age groups in the city to last from March 28 to April 16.

The 'Safer at Home' order mirrors the executive order made by Governor Stitt on Tuesday.

Mayor Bynum's order was announced hours after 7 more COVID-19 deaths were reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
