Mayor blasts 36,000 calorie cupcake

That's a big cupcake

The cupcake was invented by House of Cupcakes, if you're a foodie that might sound familiar.

The bakers from the store were the winners in Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars” show.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has been on a war against all things fat and sugar, was double steamed when he was told the cupcake is decorated with his likeness.

The bigger question is how in the world do you make a cupcake with 36,000 calories? We’re glad you asked. The store owner is Ron Bzdewk, he listed the following ingredients.

His response:
"This is one of the dumbest things people have done, but if they can get some publicity, this is not a joke. People are dying."

12 pounds of sugar, 5 pounds of butter, 4 pounds of flour, 6 cups of cocoa powder, 24 eggs, and 2 cups of milk.

WCBS in New York reports the giant treat has been donated to a local group that will use it to feed some of the less fortunate in the city.
