TULSA, Okla. — A man is in custody following a deadly shooting outside a Tulsa bar early Friday, according to police.

Tulsa police say they responded to a shots fired call at DD’s Double Shots near 11th Street and South Sheridan around 1:30 a.m. and found a man dead.

Lt. Brandon Watkins with the Tulsa Police Department said the man, who was a bouncer and a DJ at the bar, confronted the suspect outside the bar after spotting him possibly attempting to break into cars and that’s when the suspect shot the man.

After the shooting, patrons followed Bratton and helped police take him into custody at a nearby QuikTrip.

Police later identified the suspect as 18-year-old Chris Bratton.

“Some people from inside the bar actually followed the suspect from the bar and were able to tell officers where he was,” Watkins said.

Once police questioned Bratton, he confessed to the shooting, according to a police report.

Bratton was taken to the Tulsa County jail on first-degree murder and assault with a dangerous weapon complaints. He’s being held without bond.
