A man was shot to death in his driveway in the Gilcrease Hills area

Tulsa Police were called shortly after noon Sunday to a quiet northwest Tulsa neighborhood near Edison and Gilcrease Museum Rd. in reference to a shooting.

Paramedics were called but to became clear that the man, later identified as 55-year-old Alonzo Stewart, was already deceased.

Investigators tell KRMG that Stewart was in an ongoing feud with the suspect, 23-year-old Reginald Ward who lives near Stewart.

Ward's father convinced Ward to turn himself into the police.

During the investigation, Tulsa Police detectives received a phone call from the father of Ward.

KRMG has learned that the murder weapon and the getaway car have been recovered.

Tulsa Police homicide detective Dave Walker tells KRMG that Ward's father should be commended for gaining control of the situation and convincing Ward to do the right thing and turn himself in.
