Man shoots wife after she tells him 'stop my pain for good'

Woman was suffering from breast cancer

Ernest Chumbley began his phone call to 911 by saying "hello, I just shot my wife."

He went on “give me police. I'm under arrest."

When cops got to Chumbley’s house they did find his wife Virginia dead from a gunshot wound.

Virginia Chumbley was fighting breast cancer and he said she was tired of the struggle.

Chumbley didn’t put up a fight and explained to officers "she died from my shots, but it's not murder."

"She told me she wanted me to end her pain. I said, 'Jay, all I’ve got is what the doctor gave you.' She said 'no, I want you to stop my pain for good,'" Chumbley said.

Chumbley stands by his actions saying "I just did what she asked. And I would expect no different from her if I was asking."
