Man sentenced in pipe bomb case

TULSA — An Oklahoma man is sentenced by a federal judge Wednesday to 30 months in prison for conspiring to manufacture and possess pipe bombs with his son.

54-year-old Berry Albert Nichols pleaded guilty to one count in August.

Authorities say Nichols conspired with his son, 24-year-old Christopher Nichols, to purchase materials at a hardware store to create two pipe bombs.

Albert Nichols told authorities it was only meant to scare the woman.

The men were indicted after pipe bombs were found in a female relative's vehicle outside the Creek County Courthouse.

Christopher Nichols was sentenced last year to 44 months in prison.
