Man found guilty of killing his grandmother

A jury found a Bartlesville man guilty of the October 2012 death of his grandmother.

Washington County court records show the jury recommended a life sentence for 21-year-old Brandon Capps on Thursday.

He was also found guilty of unlawful receipt of proceeds, petty larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and driving without a license.

Court records show the jury recommended 30 months for each of those charges.

His defense team had argued the death of 81-year-old Clara Hammer was an accident.
