He's not the first person in Florida who enjoys swimming, but he might be the first one you've seen who does it while dressed as a merman.
22-year-old Eric Ducharme from Crystal River says the hobby started after his grandparents took to him to an underwater theme park at the age of 6, and a woman dressed in a mermaid costume swam by and blew kisses to the people in the audience.
Later, his father hired two mermaid impersonators to swim up to the dock where he was having a birthday party.
He even had his own company that made merman costumes.
