Man arrested for DUI while driving motorized cooler

Yes, its a thing

When he was stopped by police, the man told them he thought driving the cooler to the store would be safer than a car.

If cops are right about his condition, he may have a point.

Perth Now reports the 22-year-old driver will be charged with DUI.

Police in Hillarys, Australia figured the cart’s maximum speed to be about 12 mph.

The scooter in question is an “esky.” It has a full-size cooler on top of a frame equipped with wheels, a small motor, and a set of handlebars for steering.

This isn’t the first-time something like this has happened. Apparently driving the little scooters has been deemed “esky pades,” and has led to two previous arrests.

The "vehicles" sell for around $550.00 online.
